C45 Scotch Game: Alekhine Gambit (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.e5)

This game was played in the 2014 August Grand Seven Fourteen III tournament. Out of the forty games that started in this tournament, seven are still in progress and only by winning all remaining games can I fight for the third place or in very unlikely event for the second place. This game is yet another example where when the difference in playing strength is too great, the game is a bit too one-sided. That being said I still think I can lose against almost anyone who plays against me. The reason for that is the fact that if I don't have all my focus on the game, my playing strength drops several hundred points. I have added two mate in twos, one mate in three, one mate in four and one mate in five today. My game load finally shows some signs of decreasing into something more maintainable as I have only 252 games in progress at the moment. It might be only momentary though as some of the tournaments I play have not yet gone into the next round. Until tomorrow, my fellow chess enthusiasts.

Game number two. This one is a short timeout win for me but the position is dire for my opponent as well. This game was played in a tournament called 2014 September Grand Seven Fourteen III. There are still eight players in the tournament that have theoretical chances to win it. I am among those eight still but for how long I do not know. I am also currently on shared eight place but still a lot of games to play, so where I will end up in the final standings is still wide open. In this 21 player tournament everyone will play against each other twice so you get 40 simultaneous games just from this tournament alone.
